Quali-Seal Setup- Standard Jaw

Apply load to the jaw face springs.
a. Using a 3/16" Allen wrench, loosen both spring adjust-
ing screws at the back of the rear carrier.
Turn the screw until there is no contact between the
spring plunger and the screw.
b. Loosen the spring housing clamping locks.

MPORTANT
The jam nuts on the screws back out with them.
c. Turn the spring housings by hand until the plungers
just touch the jaw actuator rods.
d. Retighten the clamping locks.
e. Turn the spring adjusting crews until resistance is felt
f. Turn the spring adjusting screws an additional 2 turns
making sure each screw is adjusted the same.

MPORTANT
If necessary, sealing pressure can be increased by turning the
spring adjusting screws. The maximum number of additional
turns is:
4 (6 total) for Model 12-16 machines
One turn (360°) adds approximately 20 pounds of force
per side.
3 (5 total) for Model 15-22 machines
One turn (360°) adds approximately 30 pounds of force
per side.
g. Tighten the jam nuts on the spring adjusting screws.
Be sure to hold the position of the screws while tight-
ening the nuts.

Spring housing setup.
a. Loosen the 4 outer and 2 center jack screws (square
heads) on the jaw face mounting plate.
b. Verify all eight jaw face mounting screws (hex heads)
are tight.
c. Loosen the bolts (locking) on the spring housing
clamping blocks.
d. To prevent binding, turn both spring housings at the
same time, forcing the rear jaw out until it contacts the
front jaw along the full length of the jaw faces.
e. Place an alignment mark on the spring housing to use
as a guide later in this procedure.
f. Remove jaw linkage clamp block to unlock jaws.
g. Verify the jaws are not locked on center.
h. Turn each spring housing an additional ½ turn.
