May also be referred to as "true fin" or "pinch platen".
The fin seal requires a special platen assembly with two opposing
platen bars. The film edges are perpendicular to the forming tube
between the platen bars. One platen bar contains the heater and is mov-
able. It closes against a stationary platen anvil pressing the inside sur-
faces of the film together. The fin seal folds against the back of the bag
when the end seal is formed in the jaws.
