4. Adjust the tube stop as close to the tube as possible with-
out touching the film (1/16" to 1/32" or 3/16" for zipper).
5. Tighten the lock nut.
6. Close the platen.
7. Restore machine power.
PNEUMATIC TUBE STOP
Machines running film with zipper tape often have pneumatic tube
stops installed. Zipper tape is much thicker than regular film and can
cause a mechanical tube stop to interfere with travel. Pneumatic tube
stops only engage when the platen strikes the tube and retract while the
film is moving to allow easy travel down the tube.
Pneumatic tube stops are operated by the same air valves as the platen.
The tube stop pushes against the back of the forming tube at the exact
time the platen strikes the front of the tube. The platen and the pneu-
matic tube stop retract at the same time to allow the film to travel
through the machine to continue the bag making process.
To position the pneumatic tube stop assembly:
1. Remove machine power.
2. Open the side guard doors.
3. Turn the black handle on the assembly to the left to
unlock.
4. Position the tube stop as close to the forming tube as pos-
sible without interfering with film or zipper travel.
5. Turn the black handle to the right to lock the assembly in
place.
6. Restore machine power.
