Static Bar
Problems

The power supply does not require any special maintenance proce-
dures. Periodically check the ground connection to ensure the static
bars are operating at maximum capability.
1.
Turn ON the power supply.
2.
Touch the emitter points with a static bar checker (avail-
able from most static eliminator manufacturers.)
The round display on the static bar check glows orange when high
voltage is present at the emitter points.

ARNING
Be sure to turn the power OFF before performing maintenance
procedures on the static eliminator bar(s).

AUTION
Do not scrape the points with a hard or sharp object.
•
Do not pour isopropyl alcohol, or any solvent, on points
•
or static eliminator bar.
Never hang cleaning cloths on or near static eliminator
•
bar as this is a fire hazard.
The emitter points of the static bar must be cleaned periodically to pre-
vent deposits from accumulating on the points.
1.
Use dry, compressed air to blow out both the front and the
back area surrounding the points. Remove the bar if nec-
essary.
2.
Use a stiff nylon brush to scrub the area around the points
to remove debris.
3.
Apply isopropyl alcohol to a clean cloth and use to
remove paint or ink buildup.
a. Dry component with a clean, dry cloth.
4.
Clean points using a stiff nylon brush.

AUTION
To avoid fire hazards, verify the alcohol is completely dry before
turning the power supply ON.
If the equipment fails to function correctly:
1.
Check the connections to ensure they are tight.
2.
Use a static bar checker on each emitter point to verify
high voltage. If any points are not working, check the area
for metal fragments or other contamination.
