Removing the
Backup

4. If the backup must be adjusted side-to-side, loosen the
handknob.
5. Slide the backup until it is in the correct position.
6. Tighten the handknob.
If the backup must be removed for maintenance or repair:
1. Remove power and air from the machine.
2. Loosen the 5/18" screws that hold the backup to the
frame.
3. Lift off the backup plate.
SHAKER JAW ASSEMBLY
The shaker jaw is located just above the end seal jaws and is some-
times referred to as the stager/shaker assembly. The unit is removable
and is held in place by either two ratchet handles or two bolts, one on
each side of the assembly.

Falling product lands on the shaker jaws just after they have closed.
This keeps the product off the cooling end seal until it has time to set
and is strong enough to receive the weight of the product.
