Remove the taper bearing (outer race) (1) using the
special tools and hydraulic press.

Remove the forward bevel gear shim (4) from the
bearing holder (5).

ASSEMBLY
Install the forward bevel gear shim (1) onto the bearing
holder (2).
• When the gear case or taper bearing is replaced
with a new one, perform shim adjustment and select
the appropriate shim accordingly (page 17-40).
Apply gear oil to the circumference of a new taper
bearing (outer race) (3).
• Install the taper bearing (outer race) with the smaller
I.D. side toward the shim.
