CYLINDER BLOCK
CRANKSHAFT AXIAL CLEARANCE
Measure the crankshaft axial clearance.
STANDARD:
0.10 – 0.35 mm (0.004 – 0.014 in)
SERVICE LIMIT:
0.45 mm (0.018 in)
If the measurement exceeds the service limit, check the
thrust washers and the thrust surface of the cylinder
block. Replace the thrust washers with new ones (page
15-15) and recheck.
If the measurement still exceeds the service limit,
replace the crankshaft (page 15-15).
THRUST WASHER SIDE CLEARANCE
Measure the clearance between the thrust washers and
crankshaft at the No.4 main journal.
STANDARD:
0.10 – 0.35 mm (0.004 – 0.014 in)
SERVICE LIMIT:
0.45 mm (0.018 in)
If the measurement exceeds the service limit, check the
thrust washers and the thrust surface of the cylinder
block. Replace the thrust washers with new ones (page
15-15) and recheck.
If the measurement still exceeds the service limit,
replace the crankshaft (page 15-15).
