Inspect the caliper components. Replace bush-
ings (4) and (5), bleed screw (8) and the mount-
ing pins (7) if corroded or damaged.
Replace the caliper piston (2) if corroded,
scored or damaged in any way. Replace the
caliper (6) if the piston bore is corroded, scored
or damaged.
Lubricate the caliper piston bore and the caliper
piston and seal with clean brake fluid.
Install the seal (3) on the piston (2).
Install the dust boot (1) on the piston (2) as
follows:
• Slide the metal retainer portion of the boot
(A) over the piston.
•
Pull the boot rearward until the boot front lip
(B) seats in the piston groove.

Push the boot metal retainer (A) forward until
the boot folds snap into position (C).

Install the piston in the caliper bore with a twist
and turn motion. Do not unseat the seal during
installation.
Press the piston to the bottom of the bore and
seat the dust boot metal retainer with tool J
33028.

Install the bleeder screw and cap and the inner
and outer bushings.
