POWER STEERING PUMP
Install the vanes in the rotor (7). The rounded
edges of the vanes must face outward.

Lubricate the outer diameter and the chamfered
edge of the pressure plate (4) with petroleum
jelly.
Align and install the pressure plate (4) on the
thrust plate dowels. Press the pressure plate
downward about 1.5 mm (1/16 inch) to seat it.
Clamp the pump body in a vise with the shaft end
facing downward. Do not overtighten the vise or
the pump could be damaged.
Install the spring (20) in the center groove of the
pressure plate (4).
Lubricate the end plate outer diameter and
edges with petroleum jelly and install the end
plate (21) on top of the spring (20).
Press the end plate downward and install the
end plate retaining ring (3).
Install the spring (17) on the hex-end of the flow
control valve (18).
Install the flow control valve assembly in the
pump bore with the hex-end of the valve (C)
facing the interior of the bore.
