Front wheel alignment should be checked on an
alignment rack to ensure accurate results.
The front wheel toe setting and caster angle are
the only adjustable alignment angles on the front
axle. Camber is preset during manufacture and
is not adjustable.
CHECKING FiONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Check and adjust tire inflation pressures. Note
any unusual wear pattern on the tires.
Check the front and rear suspension com-
ponents for loose or damaged attaching bolts/
nuts. Tighten or replace as necessary.
Check the steering knuckle ball studs, steering
linkage and front wheel bearings. Repair or
replace loose, worn parts if necessary.
Check steering gear adjustment. Correct the
overcenter and drag torque adjustments if
necessary.
Position the vehicle on the alignment rack.
Check camber angle (A-B). Camber is preset
at 0°. Ok range is from minus 1/2 degree to plus
1/2 degree.

Check caster angle (C-D). Caster is preset at 8°
O K range is 7 - 3 / 4 ° to 8 - 1 / 4 ° .

Check toe setting. OK range is from 0.79 mm
(1/32 inch) toe-in, to 0.79 mm (1/32 inch) toe-
out. Desired toe setting is zero.
