Drill through e a c h rivet head using a 10 mm
(3/8Hnch) diameter drill.
CAUTION: Do not drill into the transmission
c a s e .
R e m o v e the rivet h e a d s using a small chisel.
R e m o v e the rivets and c a m (C) from the c a s e
using a blunt punch.

N O T E : M o v e the p u n c h from o n e rivet to
another in clockwise direction after e a c h punch
stroke, to drive the c a m out of the c a s e evenly.
Enlarge the rivet holes in the casfe carefully
using a 7 mm (17/64Hn) diameter drill.
R e m o v e the c h i p s , burrs, a n d a n y foreign
material from the c a s e and be sure the c a m a r e a
is free of burrs and chips.
Install the replacement c a m and spring retainer
in the c a s e with the bolt holes in the c a m and
retainer aligned with the holes in the c a s e .
Thread the retaining s c r e w s and w a s h e r s into
the c a m .
NOTE: Install the w a s h e r s on the s c r e w s s o that
the inner diameter of the w a s h e r contacts the
screw head.
Install the c a m in the c a s e using brass hammer.
Alternately and evenly tighten the retaining
s c r e w s to 11 N-m (100 in-lbs) torque.
Thread two Pilot Studs Tool J - 3 3 8 7 - 2 into the
J-3387-2

Position an illuminated light bulb next to the c a s e
to heat the c a s e .
CAUTION: Do not u s e an open flame to heat the
c a s e .
Chill the support with ice (preferably dry ice).
