GENERAL INFORMATION

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) 2JL/2.4IL
At minimum throttle opening (idle s p e e d ) , a
s i g n a l i n p u t of a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 volt i s
transmitted to the E C U . A s throttle opening
i n c r e a s e s , signal input voltage increases to a
maximum of approximately 5 volts at higher
throttle openings.
T h e throttle position s e n s o r is mounted on the
throttle body assembly. T h e s e n s o r provides the
E C U with an input signal of up to 5 volts to
indicate throttle position.

• ignition power module
• ignition control module (ICM) 1983-1985 1 . 4 L

• fuel injector
• e x h a u s t g a s r e c i r c u l a t i o n ( E G R ) v a l v e /
canister purge solenoid
• up-shift indicator lamp (manual transmission)
• cold start relay ( 1 . 7 L engines)
System Power Relay
T h e system power relay (A) is located on the
right inner fender panel.
