AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS
OVERHAUL
R e m o v e the light, position the support (1) over
the pilot studs and install the support in the c a s e
using a wooden block and hammer.
Install and tighten the support attaching bolts to
17 N-m (150 in-lbs) torque.
Cam Replacement - Model 727
T h e overrunning clutch c a m and spring retainer
s h o u l d be r e m o v e d only if r e p l a c e m e n t is
n e c e s s a r y .
R e m o v e the setscrew from the c a s e .
R e m o v e the bolts attaching the output shaft
support to the rear of the c a s e .
Insert a punch through the bolt holes and drive
the c a m (A) out of the c a s e .
N O T E : Move the punch from one bolt hole to
another in a clockwise direction after e a c h
punch stroke to drive the c a m out of the c a s e
evenly.
C A U T I O N : T h e output shaft support must be
installed in the c a s e before the overrunning
clutch c a m c a n be installed. If the support
must be replaced, drive it out the rear of the
c a s e using a wooden block and hammer.
Thread two Pilot Stud Tools J-3387-2 into the
c a s e .
