TRAC-LOK DIFFERENTIAL OVERHAUL

Differential Disassembly
Remove the differential bearing cups (8). Tag
the cups for assembly reference.
Install one axle shaft (A) in a vise with the
splined end upward. Position the shaft so no
more than 7 cm (2-3/4 in) of the shaft end ex-
tends above the vise jaws.
NOTE:
If the splined end extends more than 7
cm (2-3/4 in) above the vise jaws, the shaft will
prevent installation of the clutch pack remover
tools.

Mount the differential case (12) on the axle
shaft with the ring gear bolts (11) facing
upward.
Place shop towels (8) under the ring gear to
avoid damaging the gear during removal.

Remove the ring gear bolts (11). Discard the
bolts. They are not reusable.
