ELECTRICAL
STARTING SYSTEM - BOSCH (4-Cyl. Engine)
Mount the seal and closure gap (11).
Turn screws into place by hand far enough to
hold the closure plate in place.

Fit the rubber seal (2) on terminal 45 (brush
plate) into the groove on the stator frame.
Turn the pinion until the armature latches into
the planet gears.
NOTE: Be careful when turning the pinion. Do
not use force.
The groove on the stator frame fits onto the
sealing rubber of the bearing pedestal.
Turn the commutator end shield until the groove
on the commutator end shield points to the
sealing rubber.
Install the hexagon head screws (3) and tighten
to 2.7-3.5 N-m (2.0-2.6 ft-lbs) torque.
