Compress the plunger spring (13) slightly. Align
the valve stem (10) with the retainer (14) and
seat the stem in the retainer and plunger.
Lock the stem in the retainer by pressing the
retainer tab (B) downward.
Lubricate the plunger and valve stem assembly
with clean brake fluid.
Install the plunger and valve stem assembly in
the cylinder bore.
Install the snap ring and dust boot on the push
rod.
Lubricate the ball end of the push rod with the
lubricant supplied in the overhaul kit.
Insert the push rod in the plunger. Push the
plunger and stem assembly into the cylinder
bore. Then seat the washer (4) in the bore and
install the push rod snap ring (3).
Install the cylinder dust boot (2). Be sure the
boot is firmly seated in the cylinder boot
groove.
CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER AND THROWOUT
BEARING
The integral slave cylinder and throwout bear-
ing assembly (1) is not a serviceable compo-
nent. The bearing is permanently attached to
the cylinder piston and the hydraulic lines are
permanently attached to the cylinder. If either
the cylinder, bearing or lines become damaged,
the entire assembly must be replaced. Remov-
al/installation procedures are as follows.
