MODEL 231 TRANSFER CASE
Remove the transfer case from the transmis-
sion.
Lower the jack and remove the transfer case
from under the vehicle.
TRANSFER CASE INSTALLATION
Mount the transfer case on the transmission
jack.
Align and install the transfer c a s e on the
transmission.
Install the transfer case-to-transmission attach-
ing nuts.
Connect the range lever linkage rod.
Connect the speedometer cable and the vent
and vacuum hoses to the transfer case.
Align and connect the front and rear propeller
shafts.
Install the crossmember/skidplate.
Remove the transfer case supporting jacks.
Fill the transfer case with Mercon® automatic
transmission fluid.
Lower the vehicle.
Verify proper transfer case operation.
