ASSEMBLY
HYDRAULIC VALVE TAPPET ASSEMBLY
Install the following components in the tappet
body:
• Plunger return spring (G)
• C h e c k valve a s s e m b l y (F)
• Plunger ( E )
• Metering valve (D)
• Plunger c a p ( C )
C o m p r e s s the plunger assembly by exerting
force on the plunger c a p with the push rod.
Install the s n a p ring (A).

HYDRAULIC VALVE TAPPET LEAK-DOWN TEST
After cleaning, inspection and assembly, test
e a c h tappet for the specified leak-down rate
tolerance to e n s u r e zero-lash operation.
NOTE: A timing device is required to test the
leak-down rate.
