Carefully disengage the stub shaft locating pin
(B) from the spool valve locating hole (C) and
remove the stub shaft assembly (17).

Remove the spool valve (21). Carefully push the
valve out while rotating it to avoid cocking. If the
valve becomes cocked, do not force it out.
Carefully realign and remove it.
Remove and discard the damper O-ring (19)
from the spool valve (21).
Remove the teflon rings (18) and the backup
O-rings (22) located under the teflon rings.
Remove the rings by carefully cutting them with
a knife or diagonal pliers.

Cleaning and Inspection
Cleaning
Clean the valve body components with solvent
and dry them with compressed air only. Do not
use shop towels or similar lint producing
materials. Place the gear components on paper
after cleaning and during assembly operations.
Inspection
Inspect the valve body components. A slight
polishing is normal on valve body surfaces as
are tiny flat spots on the valve spool locating pin
(B). If there are scores, nicks or burrs on any of
the finely machined surfaces that cannot be
removed with crocus cloth, replace the valve
body assembly. Inspect the outside diameter of
the spool valve and the inside diameter of the
valve body for nicks or wear. Replace the valve
body assembly if minor irregularities cannot be
removed with crocus cloth.
