Out-of-Vehicle Procedures
a — Converter Drive Plate: Check the plate for
flatness, cracks, loose attaching bolts, or dam-
aged ring gear teeth.
b — Oil Pump: Clean the pump and check all
clearances. Inspect the rotors for scoring and
the seal and bushings for wear. Inspect the
pump housing and reaction shaft support mat-
ing surfaces for flatness.
c — Transmission Vent: Make sure the vent is
open and not obstructed.
