FRONT HUB AND BEARING SERVICE
Hub and Bearing Remowal
Raise and support the front of the vehicle.
Remove the wheel, caliper and rotor. Do not
disconnect the brake hoses. Tie the calipers to
the body or a suspension component. Do not let
the hose support the weight of the caliper.
Remove the axle hub nut cotter pin, nut lock and
the axle hub nut.
Remove the hub-to-knuckle attaching bolts and
remove the hub assembly from the steering
knuckle.
Hub and Bearing Service
The front hub and bearing assembly can be
replaced as a complete unit or disassembled for
service. However, if the unit is disassembled, be
sure to replace both bearings (8 and 12) a s a set.
The bearings are not reusable after removal.
