Valwe Body Assembly
Lubricate the spool valve with power steering
fluid and check fit of the valve in the valve body.
If the spool valve does not rotate freely within the
valve body, replace the entire valve body
assembly.
Lubricate the backup O-rings (22) and teflon
rings (18) with power steering fluid.
Install the backup O-rings (22) in the valve body
ring grooves.

NOTE: The teflon rings may appear slightly
loose or distorted after installation. However, the
heat generated by the power steering fluid
during operation will straighten them.
Lubricate the spool valve damper O-ring (19)
with petroleum jelly and install the O-ring in the
spool valve groove.
Lubricate the spool valve (21) and valve body
(23) with power steering fluid and carefully insert
the spool valve into the valve body with a push
and turn motion.

Install the teflon rings (18) over the backup O-
rings. Take care to avoid damaging the teflon
rings during installation.
