OVERHAUL
Install the planetary thrust w a s h e r (20) in the
input gear.
Install the range fork (43) in the annulus and
planetary gear assembly (C). T h e n install the
assembly in the front c a s e . B e sure the input
gear is fully engaged in the planetary gear and
the annulus gear fully engaged with the low
range lockplate.

Align and engage the range fork lug (E) in the
shift sector (67).
Install the mainshaft assembly in the front c a s e .
B e sure the planetary thrust washer is aligned
before attempting to install the mainshaft.
Position the a s s e m b l e d mode fork (49) in the
synchronizer s l e e v e (31).
Align the mode and range forks and install the
shift rail (45). B e sure the shift rail is fully seated
in the c a s e and in both forks.
Position the drive chain (37) on the front output
shaft (40). T h e n install the chain on the drive
sprocket and the front output shaft in the c a s e .
N O T E : It may be n e c e s s a r y to lift the mainshaft
slightly before the front output shaft can be
seated in the front c a s e .
