FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS
The fuel system consists of a fuel tank located in the
left side of the engine compartment at 1; fuel tank
pickup tube, 2; fuel tank sending unit, 3; inline fuel
filter, 4; electric fuel pump, 5; fuel filter (water), 6;
injection pump, 7; and return fuel line, 8, from the
injector bleed off to the tank. The fuel flow is
controlled by an electric fuel solenoid, 9, which is
controlled by the EIC (Electronic Instrument Cluster).
FUEL GAUGE
In the center of the EIC panel is the fuel gauge,
implemented as a vertical 10-segment green LED
bar graph. The lowest segments will flash when the
fuel level is low. An audible alarm will accompany the
flashing light for about 5 seconds.
