11. Reinstall the intermediate shaft assembly, 1, into
the hub at 2.
12. Install the wear ring, 3. If the ring is worn or dam-
aged, replace.
13. Install the inner bearing, 1, onto the intermediate
shaft, by using the large flat washer, 2, and a 1/2"
x 2" HHCS at 3, to press the bearing onto the
shaft. After the bearing has started squarely onto
the shaft, replace the 2" bolt with the original 1/2"
x 1-1/2" HHCS, pull the bearing into place and
torque the bolt to 88 N·m (65 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: NOTE: The intermediate shaft bearing as-
sembly is not shimmed. Torquing the retaining bolt
will set the bearings to the correct position and di-
mensions.
14. Place a bead of noncorrosive silicone sealer
around the cover plate at 1, and tap into place.
NOTE: NOTE: Lubricate the shaft and bearing as-
sembly with New Holland high viscosity lithium
grease at 2, rotating the shaft to ensure the cavity is
filled with grease.
