Bucket drift down test:
Pretest instructions:
* Operator in seat
* Service/Run switch in "RUN" position
* Seat belt fastened
* Ignition switch in the "ON" position
* Engine running half throttle, 1500 RPM

1 Bucket stopped
should hold in position with no
visual movement

Spool lock solenoid test:
Pretest instructions:
* Operator in seat
* Service/Run switch in "RUN" position
* Seat belt fastened
* Ignition switch in the "ON" position
STEP TEST
1 Battery voltage at solenoid

SECTION 35 - HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
RESULT
midrange YES System OK
NO
Check control valve spool for centering, if OK go to
next step.
Check for leaky packing in cylinders, if OK go to next
step.
Check boom circuit relief valve, if OK go to next step.
Check control valve for leakage.
Check O ring and backup washer on front and rear
plug in control valve.
RESULT
YES System OK, go to step 5.
NO
Check seat belt operation, if OK go to next step.
Check wires to the solenoid valves for open circuit, if
OK go to next step.
Check EIC board operation, if OK go to next step.
Check EIC board operation, if not OK refer to
ELECTRICAL
MANUAL.
Remove solenoid coil and check operation, if OK go
to next step.
Check control valve spools for centering, binding,
and binding between solenoid and block, if OK
replace solenoid valve.
