ALTERNATOR EXCITE RESISTOR
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative (–) battery cable.
2. Unplug the wires from the resistor terminals.
3. Remove the resistor, 1, retaining hardware.
Testing the resistor using an ohmmeter, the
resistance should read approximately 50 ohms ± 5
ohms.
ALTERNATOR EXCITE RESISTOR
INSTALLATION
1. Reinstall the resistor retaining hardware.
2. Reconnect the wires to the proper terminals.
