Valve Clearance Adjustment

Loosen the nut and adjust the clearance of both the

intake and exhaust valves to 0.2 mm (0.0078") with

the adjusting screw.

NOTE: Adjust when the engine is cold. Set the No.

1 piston to TDC of compression stroke and adjust the

No. 1 cylinder intake and exhaust valves, No. 2

cylinder exhaust valve. Turn the crankshaft 2405 in a

clockwise direction, viewed from the front, and adjust

the remaining valves.

Cylinder Head Cover

Evenly tighten the cylinder head cover. Ensure the O

ring gasket remains in place.

Cylinder head cover tightening torque:

8 - 12 N⋅m (6 - 9 ft. lbs.)

Water Pump Assembly, 1 and

Thermostat Housing, 2

Install in the sequence of the gasket, plate, gasket,

and water pump assembly.
