Displaying Status Information
displays an estimate of the interface's current bandwidth
Speed
in bits per second.
Oper Status
field can display

Reading the Statistics Box
The
box displays statistics related to traffic on each interface. This
Statistics
box uses a separate line for information about incoming and outgoing traffic.
It includes the following categories:
Intf Name
shows the total number of octets received or transmitted
Octets
on the interface, including framing characters.
Ucast Pkts
received from or delivered to a higher-layer protocol.
NUcast Pkts
subnetwork-multicast packets received from or sent to a
higher-layer protocol.
Discards
that could not be delivered to a higher-layer protocol. Packets
may have been discarded due to lack of buffer space, and may
not have had errors.
provides the number of packets that could not be received
Errors
or transmitted due to errors.
Unknown Protocols
because of unknown or unsupported protocols.
Queue Length
packet queue.
