RAP 6.1: Analog
Communications
See Parts List 3.1.
1. Perform the Power Supply DC
Voltage Check RAP.
2. Check the wire harness and
connection from the analog board to
the LCU (USA only). See Figure 2-22

Result: Connections secure?
No: Reconnect wire harness as required.
Yes: Continue with Step 3.
3. Enter Service Mode.

4. Press MENU, 7, ENTER, 1, ENTER, 5, ENTER, 1, ENTER.
Run the modem test. Listen for various tones and signals as
you cycle through the test.
Result: Test passed?
No: Replace the analog circuit board
(REP 5.1.4: Analog Board on page 4-41).
If this does not solve the problem, replace the
main circuit board. (REP 5.1.2: Main Board on page 4-39).
Yes: Continue with Step 5.
5. In the service menu Test Group, run the DTMF
and/or Dial Pulse test.
Result: Test passed?
No: Replace the analog circuit board (or main board?).
Yes: Continue with Step 6.
6. Connect the machine to a known, good telephone line.
Send and/or receive a fax (see System Check: Fax
for the procedure).
Result: Machine transmits and/or receives the fax?
No: Replace the LCU (REP 5.1.5: LCU on page 4-42)
and retest. If this does not solve the problem, replace
the analog board (REP 5.1.4: Analog Board on page 4-41)
and retest. If this still does not solve the problem, replace
the main circuit board (REP 5.1.2: Main Board on page 4-39).
Yes: End of RAP.
