Chapter 1 Install the Cisco ONS 15310-MA SDH
Do not operate an ONS 15310-MA SDH without a fan-tray air filter. A fan-tray air filter is mandatory
Caution
for compliance with IEC 60950-1 standard.
You must place the edge of the air filter flush against the front of the fan-tray assembly compartment
Caution
when installing the fan tray on top of the filter. Failure to do so could result in damage to the filter, the
fan tray, or both.
Do not force a fan-tray assembly into place. Doing so can damage the connectors on the fan tray and/or

the connectors on the back panel of the shelf assembly.
Order Wire (OW) port is an intra-building wiring port to be used for maintenance purposes and is not

connected during normal operation. This port must not be connected to any telecommunication
network. Statement 1085.
Install the air filter. The air filter is installed internally in the slot at the top left of the shelf assembly
