29. Install a n e w crankshaft oil seal in the oil p u m p (see
step 2 on page 8-13).
30. Remove all of the old liquid gasket f r o m the oil
p u m p mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.
3 1 . Clean and dry the oil p u m p m a t i n g surfaces.
32. A p p l y liquid gasket, P/N 08717-0004, 08718-0001,
08718-0003, or 08718-0009, evenly t o the engine
block mating surface of the oil p u m p .
NOTE: Do not install the parts if 4 minutes or more
have elapsed since applying the liquid gasket.
Instead, reapply liquid gasket after r e m o v i n g the
old residue.

33. Grease the lip of the oil seal, and apply oil to the
new O-rings (A).

34. Install the dowel pins (B), then align the inner rotor
w i t h the crankshaft, and install t h e oil p u m p (C).
35. Clean the excess grease off the crankshaft, and
check the seal for distortion.
36. Install the baffle plate (D), then install the oil screen
(E).
37. Install the oil filter base/oil filter assembly (A), w i t h
a n e w O-ring (B).
