Install the crankshaft, camshaft sprockets, and
timing chain. B e s u r e the timing marks on the
sprockets are properly aligned.
TIMING

N O T E : T o verify correct installation of the timing
c h a i n , turn c r a n k s h a f t to locate c a m s h a f t
sprocket timing mark at approximately the on
o'clock position. T h i s positions crankshaft
sprocket timing mark where the adjacent tooth
m e s h e s with the chain at the four o'clock posi-
tion. Count number of chain pins between tim-
ing marks of both sprockets. There must be 20
pins.

Install the camshaft sprocket retaining bolt and
washer and tighten the bolt to 80 ft-lbs (108
iskn) torque.
Timing Chain Tensioner Installation
Turn the tensioner lever to the unlock (down)
position.
