2.5L 1-4 ENGINE OVERHAUL
ENGINE DISASSEMBLY
Remove the timing case cover and lay upside
d o w n .

Position a drift p u n c h into t h e slot (A) in t h e
back of the cover and t a p the old seal o u t .

R e m o v e t h e timing chain bumper (B).
R e m o v e t h e oil slinger f r o m crankshaft.
Remove the camshaft retaining bolt and remove
the sprockets and chain as an assembly.

R e m o v e t h e camshaft.

Inspect:
T h e c a m lobes for wear
