16.4.3 How to Upgrade Firmware by Serial Connection (Local Download)
This firmware upgrade is performed one by one, connecting a PC to each MG-T1(SIP) with a CONSOLE cable
(RS-232C ⇔ RJ-45) and a LAN cable. Prepare the following:
- Firmware for upgrade
- CONSOLE cable (RS-232C
- Serial terminal emulation program (such as HyperTerminal) is required
- TFTP server has to be installed in advance.
TFTP Server (IP Address: 10.41.1.250)
Serial Console
Note: TFTP server and Serial Console both can be performed by single Personal Computer.
Disconnect the MG-T1(SIP) from the network.
STEP 1
Connect PC(s) to MG-T1(SIP) with LAN cable (crossover) and CONSOLE cable (RS-232C
STEP 2

RJ-45) both.
Put the firmware files (for example, SP3926) and mgdtimwlist.txt for upgrade in the root
STEP 3
folder of TFTP server.
