Remove the A/C compressor and alternator
bracket assembly, if equipped. Refer to Chapter
L - Heating and Air Conditioning for additional
information pertaining to the A/C system.
Remove the oil pan-to-timing case cover screws
and cover-to-cylinder block bolts.
Remove the timing case cover (2), front seal and
gasket from the engine.
Cut off the oil pan side gasket end tabs flush with
the front face of the cylinder block. Remove the
gasket tabs.
Clean the timing c a s e cover, oil pan, and
cylinder block gasket surfaces.
Remove the crankshaft oil seal (3) from the
timing case cover.
Remove the timing case cover. Refer to the
removal procedure.
Remove the oil seal from the timing case cover.
