Open Shortest Path First (OSPFv2 and OSPFv3)
Set the priority of the interface to determine the Designated Router for the OSPF network.
ip ospf priority number
To return to the default setting, enter no ip ospf priority.
number
Enter a number as the priority.
Range: 0 to 255.
The default is 1.

Setting a priority of 0 makes the router ineligible for election as a Designated Router or Backup
Designated Router.
Use this command for interfaces connected to multi-access networks, not point-to-point networks.
Set the retransmission time between lost link state advertisements (LSAs) for adjacencies belonging to
the interface.
ip ospf retransmit-interval seconds
To return to the default values, enter no ip ospf retransmit-interval.
seconds
Enter the number of seconds as the interval between retransmission.
Range: 1 to 3600.
Default: 5 seconds.
This interval must be greater than the expected round-trip time for a packet to travel
between two routers.

Set the time interval to a number large enough to prevent unnecessary retransmissions. For example,
the interval should be larger for interfaces connected to virtual links.
