Removal and Installation

Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.

NOTE: Note the position of the power

Detach the power steering lines from the
steering gear.
CAUTIONS:

Cap the power steering lines to prevent
fluid loss or dirt ingress.
Cap the steering gear valve body to
prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.
Disconnect the power steering lines from the
steering gear valve body (left-hand drive
shown).
1. Remove the retaining bolt.
2. Rotate the clamp plate.
Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable
container.
Discard the O-ring seals.
4. Lower the vehicle.

Detach the power steering pump to steering gear
pressure line from the cylinder block.
6. CAUTIONS:
Do not disconnect the power steering
pump pressure adapter from the power
steering pump.
