17. If you selected Following IP addresses, in the IP address 1 field, type the IP address.
The SNMP agents on this server can be programmed to accept incoming SNMP messages
from a restricted list of SNMP managers. If an SNMP message is received from an IP
address not listed, it is dropped.
18. Repeat Step 17until all IP addresses are listed.
19. Press Enter to save your changes.
Displaying the MIB Reference Document
The Management Information Base (MIB) reference document lists the details of
Communication Manager data for SNMP management. The MIB can be used to interpret SNMP
data that is supported by the Communication Manager SNMP Agent.
To display the MIB reference document:
1. On the main page, under Alarms, click on SNMP Agents.
The system displays the SNMP Agents page.
2. Click on Download G3-Avaya-MIB.
The system displays a text file of the MIB.
Turning on access for the SNMP ports at the network level
On an S8300, S8500, S8300, or S8700 Series Media Server, you must turn on network access
for the SNMP ports to allow SNMP access to Communication Manager. To turn on (or turn off)
network access for SNMP ports, complete the following steps.
To display the MIB reference document:
1. On the main page, under Security, click Firewall.
The system displays the Firewall screen.
