5 . Wire Harness Open Circuit Inspection Between
t he Modulator and Control Ur.it
Disconnect the ABS control unit 5P (Black) con-
nector
Check for continuity between t he ABS modulato r
2P wire harness side connect or and ABS control
un it 5P (Black) wi re harness side connector.
Connection: Brown/ Yellow - Brown/ Yellow
Green/ Yellow - Green/ Yellow
Is there continuity?
NO - Open circuit in wire harness between
the ABS control unit and modulator.
YES - GO TO STEP 6.
6. Modulator Motor Inspection by Replacing Front
and Rear Modulators
Connect the ABS control unit 5P (Black) connec-
tor.
Remove the front and rear modulators and inter-
change them.
Connect the front modulator 3P (Gray) and 2P
connectors to the rear modulator.
Connect the rear modulator 3P (Gray) and 2P
connectors to the front modulator.
Perform the pre-start self-diagnosis and retrieve
the problem code, and record it.
Is any proble m code indicated?
5 bl inks-Faulty front ABS mod ulator.
4 bl inks-Faulty ABS control unit.

Before troubleshooting check for the following:
• Rear ABS fuse 30A connection.
• Short or open circuit in wire harness between
t he fuse box and ABS control u nit.
Retrieve t he problem code and erase it.
Perform the pre-start self-diagnosis and check
the ABS indicator.
Is the indicator still blinking?
NO - • Fine foreign matter in modulator or
the ABS control unit has been dis-
rupted by an extremely powerful
radio wave.
• Check the connect or and wire har-
ness of the speed sensor system for
loose connection.
YES - GO TO STEP 2.
