INSPECTION
Hold the crankshaft both end.
Set a dial gauge on the center main journal of the
crankshaft.
Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions and read the
runout.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.05 mm (0.002 in)
INSTALLATION
Install the main journal bearings into the upper and '
lower crankcase.
Apply molybdenum disu lfide oil to the upper and
lower main journal bearings.
Install the crankshaft.

I
Before installation, position all the pistons at TDC
(Top Dead Center) to prevent damaging the crank-
pin with the connecting rod bolt threads.
Apply molybdenum oil solution to the crankpin
bearing sliding surfaces on the bearing caps.
Install the bearing caps by aligning the J.D. code on
the connecting rod and beari ng cap.
Apply oil to the connecting rod bearing cap nut
threads and seating surface.
