FRONT WHEEL/SUSPENSION/STEERING
Make sure that
there is no cable or
wire harness inter-
ference.

Install t he steering stem nut cap.
Install the front brake hose bracket , tighten the
bolts.
Connect the ignition switch 4P (White) connector
and secure the wires with the wire band (page 1-25).
Install the fo llowing:
- Front wheel (page 13-16)
- Upper cowl (page 2-14)
STEERING HEAD BEARING PRE-LOAD
4P (WHITE) CONNECTORS
Jack-up the motorcycle to raise the f ront w heel off ,...----- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ,
the ground.
Position the steering stem to the straight ahead
position.
Hook a spring scale to t he fork tube and measure
t he steering head bearing pre-load.
The p re-load should be within
1.0- 1.5
kgf
(2.2- 3.3
lbf).
If t he readings do not fall within the li mits, lower t he
front wheel to the ground and adjust the steering
bearing adjusting nut.
