Measure the VTEC side valve spring f ree length.
SERVICE LIMITS:
Spring B outer: 53.2 mm (2.09 in)
Spring B inner: 38.4 mm (1.55 i n)
Replace t he springs if they are shorter than the ser-
vice limits.
VALVE LIFTER
Inspect each valve lifter for scratches or abnorma l
wear.
Measure t he each valve lifter O.D.
SERVICE LIMIT: 25.97 mm (1.022 in)
VALVE LIFTER BORE
Inspect each valve lifter bore for scratches or abnor-
mal wear.
Measure the each valve lifter bore I. D.
SERVICE LIMIT:
26.04 mm (1.025 in)
CAM CHAIN TENSIONER/ CAM CHAIN
GUIDE
Inspect the ca m chain tensioner and cam chain
guide for excessive wear or damage, replace if nec-
essary.
