Check all system con
nections
before inspection.
If t he system
is
disconnected, incorrect
peak
volt-
age might be

easured.
Check cylinder compression and check that all

he spark plugs are installed correctly.
Use a
recom
mended

imeter
or

mercially available
digita
l multi
meter with
an
impeda nce of 10 Mn!DCV minimum.
If the Pea
k voltage tester
(U.S.A.
only) is
used,
fo llow the
ma
nufacturer's instruction.
The display va lue differs depending upon the
internal
impedance
of the
multimet
er.
Disconnect
t
he
f uel
pum
p
connector before
checki
ng the peak voltage.
Open and support
t
he
f
uel tank using the
equipped
tools
(page
3-5).
Disconnect t
he
fu
el pump

(Brown)
connector.
Connect the peak voltage
adapt
or
t
o
t
he digital m ul-

meter.
