ELECTRIC STARTER/ STARTER CLUTCH
lnstallrhe msulators
Install the following:
properly as nored
durmg removal.
- New 0-ring
- Insulated washers
- Washer
- Nut
Install the armature in the motor case.
When installing the armature into the motor case,
hold the armature tightly to keep the magnet of the
case from pulling the armature against it.

The coil may be damaged if the magnet pulls the
armature against the case.

Install the shims on the armature shaft.
properly as noted
Install a new seal ring onto the motor case.
dunng removal.
Assemble the front cover and motor case.
Install a new seal ring on the motor case.
lnsrall the shims
Install the shims onto the armature shaft.
properly as noted
Assemble the motor case and rear cover, aligning
durmg removal.
the brush holder boss with the groove in the rear
cover.
Make sure the index lines are aligned.
