FUEL SYSTEM (Programmed Fuel Injection)

Check fo r loose o r poor con tact o n the VTEC
solenoid valve co nnecto r.
Place the motorcycle o n its side stand.
Connect t he VTEC solenoid connector.
Turn the ign ition sw itch ON.
Check that the MIL blinks.
Is the MIL blinking?
NO - Loose or poor co ntact on the VTEC sole-
no id valve connector.
YES - GO TO STEP 2.
2. VTEC Solenoid Valve Unit Inspection
Connect t he battery
(+)
t erminal to the VTEC
solenoid valve con nector termi nal and battery (-)
terminal to t he grou nd .
You should hear the solenoid "CLICK" w hen the
connector is connected.
Does the solenoid "CLICK''?.
YES - GO TO STE P 3.
NO - Replace the VTEC solenoid valve.
3. VTEC Solenoid Valve Open Circuit Inspection
Disconnect the ECM 26P (Light gray) co nnector.
Check the continu ity between the VTEC so leno id
valve connector terminal and ECM con nector.
Connection: Green/ yellow- Green/ yellow
Is there continuity?
YES - Rep lace t he ECM w ith a new one, and
inspect it agai n.
NO - Open circuit in Gree n/yellow wi re
between the ECM connector and VTEC
solenoid v alve co nnector.
