3.3.1 Inspecting the oil level, axis-1 gearbox

Inspecting oil level, axis 1-gearbox (suspended robot)
Use this procedure to inspect the oil level in the axis-1 gearbox.

WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several safety
risks, see Gearbox lubricants (oil or grease)
on page 32.
DANGER
Turn off all:
• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
• air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the robot
working area.
Lift down the robot from its suspended pos-
ition and secure it on the floor.
CAUTION
The gearbox can contain an excess of
pressure that can be hazardous. Open the
oil plug carefully in order to let out the ex-
cess pressure.
Open the oil plug inspection on the axis-1
gearbox.
Required oil level:
• 22 mm ± 3 mm below the surface for
the motor flange.
Add oil if required.
Refit the oil plug.
