3.4.2 Changing the oil, axis 1 gearbox

Draining, axis 1 gearbox
Use this procedure to drain the gearbox of oil. A suspended robot must be taken
down and secured standing on the floor for oil change.

DANGER
Turn off all:
• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
• air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the robot
working area.
WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several safety
risks, see Gearbox lubricants (oil or grease)
on page 32.
Remove the push button guard from the
base.
Remove the centering piece from the push
button unit.
Remove the base cover.
Cut the straps that hold the oil draining hose
fastened inside the robot base.
Pull out the oil draining hose so that it
reaches the oil collecting vessel.
