Removing the axis 1 gearbox
Use this procedure to remove the axis 1 gearbox from the base.

Action
Jog the robot to the calibration position.
Drain the gearbox.
DANGER
Turn off all:
electric power supply
hydraulic pressure supply
air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the robot work-
ing area.
CAUTION
The IRB 1520 robot weighs 170 kg.
All lifting accessories used must be sized
accordingly!
Remove the base.
Note
The referred instructions for how to replace
the base includes how to put the robot in a
position best suited to facilitate the removal
of base and axis 1 gearbox.
