Draining, oil
The procedure below details how to drain the oil in the gearbox, axis 4.
When using the oil exchange equipment, follow the instructions enclosed with the kit. Art.
no. for the kit is specified in
3HAC020993-001 Revision: G
Action
1. Run the upper arm -45° from the calibration
position.

DANGER!
Turn off all electric power, hydraulic and
pneumatic pressure supplies to the robot!
For Foundry Prime robots: Do not turn off the air
pressure to motors and SMB.

WARNING!
Handling gearbox oil involves several safety
risks. Before proceeding, please observe the
safety information in section
risks during work with gearbox oil on page
4. Drain the oil from the gearbox into an vessel by
opening theoil plug, draining.
Remove the oil plug, filling in order to drain the
oil quicker!
5. Run the upper arm back to its calibration
position (horizontal position).
6. Refit the oil plug, draining.
